I think what is beautiful and excruciating for me about some art is how badly I want to touch it and run my hands over the texture to experience it with a sense other than just my eyes. But it is not allowed as it would ruin the art over time. Along those same lines then I start thinking about how you would keep it clean- that texture has such opportunity for dust collection! I have some pieces I have purchased and some I have made which are impossible to keep clear of dust and I do not want or cannot put them in a glass covering to protect them. I wonder how artists, museums, and other people keep works with this much texture clean when it is open to the air? The piece by Bussie Parker Kehoe is soooo gorgeous and looks like a total dust trap!

Thats funny artsy “food” making has been on my mind lately. A week or two ago I like suddenly remembered Youmeng Liu’s punch needle embroidery food and Heather Rios’s embroidered cakes. So now I’ve just been looking at lots of YouTube tutorials of artists (Christina Kunanets and Kristin Ruscher) painting food using impasto and/or resin to make their “food”. It’s oddly relaxing and satisfying to watch the process.
