Oooooh! Cotton candy dreams floating around at the beach. Sigh. These ethereal installation / photographs are the work of American artist Thomas Jackson:
[Thomas] spent much of his career in New York as an editor and book reviewer for magazines. It was his particular interest in photography books that led him to pick up a camera, first shooting Garry Winogrand-inspired street scenes, then landscapes, and finally the installation work he does today.
Oh, I am so glad he picked up that camera… and the tulle! He just posted a ‘behind-the-scenes’ video of his process on Instagram, and it is MAGICAL. Watch it right here.
Ummm, what am I looking at here? Installations of gigantic sculptures in a white-walled gallery? Yes, but the “art” isn’t large-scale, the gallery is tiny-scale… a 1:25 scale, to be exact! So. Much. FUN! I just discovered 1:25 Gallery on Instagram a few days ago and, obviously, I fell in love immediately. This hilarious / mini gallery is either brand new or a very well-kept secret, because they only have 34 followers. Let’s change that, shall we?
Happy Thursday ~ Danielle
Amazing!
