I have loved the work of Canadian painter Sean William Randall for years*, so I’m thrilled to have him as a member of our very talented ‘ART DELIVERY’ community! Now, why all of the cars, flames and landscapes you ask?
“ … one minute his work demonstrates a profound love for Canadian landscape painting, and the next moment setting the tradition on fire by painting flaming wreckage streaking across the pastel prairie sky… “
Yes, it certainly does! You can find some of Sean’s available work through Ian Tan Gallery (Vancouver), and he’s on Instagram at @seanwilliamrandall.
*FUN ART FACT: I have to include the painting Sean did for “That Night In Toronto”, a show I curated in the summer of 2017 at Mayberry Fine Art in, you guessed it, Toronto. I asked 10 Canadian artists to make a piece inspired by any lyric from any “Tragically Hip” song as an ode to their front man, Gord Downie. He’d been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, and I wanted Gord to know how much the art community loved him. We sold so much of the work, and the majority of the proceeds were donated to The Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research. I heard through the Canadian grapevine that he knew about this show, and loved it. Sadly, he passed away a few months later. This was Sean’s painting, titled “I thought of leaving it behind”:
Is that Sean in the photo? No… but it is me and several of the participating artists standing beside Sean’s painting ;) It really was a great ‘night in Toronto’.
Happy weekend ~ Danielle
Apparently the " All - American " appreciation for fast, powerful cars & other vehicles is NOT limited to the US ! Vin Diesel might like this, since THAT FRANCHISE appears to be almost supernaturally capable of holding a fan following.
Are Sean’s paintings ALL paint?! Incredible!
