This society is filled to the brim with talent. I’ve featured sculptors, painters, photographers, collagists… but I don’t think we’ve ever had a children’s illustrator? Well, today’s spotlight is shining on the lovely, candy-hued work of Berlin based Bulgarian artist Juliana Penkova. Ahh, so much colorful, cheerful, super sweet work all in one spot! Check out her shop, download the free goodies she has on her site, and follow Juliana on Instagram @julianapenkova. ps. And… hire her for a project!
Once again there are so many new Saturday subscribers, so I’m sharing a ‘Society Six-Pack’ to show you some of my favorite posts from the past few months… just so you know what happens around here during the week! Artists featured above: Ivana Živić, Serbia (painting) / Ron Isaacs, USA (wood!?) / Shayna Leib, USA (glass/ceramic!?) / John McAllister, USA (painting) / Bruno Walpoth, Italy (wood) / Joana Vasconcelos, Portugal (installation). And that’s just the tip of the artsy iceberg!
Have a lovely weekend, and I’ll see most of you on Monday ~ Danielle
ps. I’m working on a sign up “sheet” for our next NSTATMA adventure… each month I will choose a name from this list for our one-on-one Zoom chat. Stay tuned!
Juliana’s work is a mood lifter. So nice to look at.
