American artist Vivienne Strauss works in all sorts of mediums, but her collages are my favorite… and, yes, if you want to get even more specific, those tiny birds living their best lives are my super duper favorites! You can find Vivienne’s work in her shop, and she’s on Instagram at @viv_strauss.
Speaking of loving collage… what’s Collage-O-Rama, you ask? It’s a great big collage party in Seattle, May 9th through June 7th. There are art exhibitions and a drop-in space where anyone can collage, with all supplies provided. I'll be there to kick things off by giving a talk / hosting a collage activity for World Collage Day (Saturday May 10th), aaaaand I’m also bringing GIRL CRUSH back on Sunday May 11th! There are very limited spots for this all day, creative unblocking, art making workshop so sign up soon if you’re interested.
FYI: Collage-O-Rama has TWO CALLS FOR ARTISTS you might want to know about... The first is a 10-day artist residency about storytelling through locative collage. The residency application deadline is February 17. Second, submissions are open until March 28th for Complex Pictures, an exhibition of digital collage work. There are no entry fees for either call.
Have a fantastic weekend ~ Danielle
thank you so much for sharing my work again!
Happy tiny-bird fun-time collages? Yes please—I'm firmly in agreement with the super duper!
