Today’s spotlight should have a neon glow and be made with… paper? Yep, the member in the spotlight is Paris born, London based paper artist Caro Clarke (aka INKTERAKTIV).
She works mostly with fluorescent paper strips using paper quilling techniques, and playing with paper and light … Caro's work emphasises the delicacy of paper versus its architectural structure within a minimalist setting. She draws inspiration for her pieces from the urban landscape and her own travels as well as her love for neon lighting, typography, architecture and geometrical patterns.
I love neon lighting and typography, tooooo! You can find Caro on Instagram at @inkteraktiv.
Less than a month to go until “ART and JOY - Best Friends Forever”, is on shelves worldwide! MARCH 7, 2023 is the date I’ve been waiting for… and it’s almost here! My last kids’ book (“How To Spot An Artist”) came out during 2020, so yeah, the book tour was very, very canceled. Well, I’m making up for it now! I’ll be going all over the place to read my book to kids (of all ages)… here’s the first pass at tour dates, with more to come very soon:
March 11 LOS ANGELES / Skylight Books
March 13 PALM SPRINGS / Alt Summit
APRIL 1 VANCOUVER / Collage Collage
APRIL 8 PORTLAND / Powell’s Books (Rose Room)
APRIL 29 NEW YORK / McNally Jackson (Seaport store)
MAY 3 & 4 PHILADELPHIA / Paradigm Gallery + Studio
MAY 26 (tentatively) SANTA FE, NM / Jen Tough Gallery
JUNE 11 SAN FRANCISCO / SFMoMA
I’ll update exact times, links etc as we get closer to all of these events but, until then, I’ll just be over here jumping for JOY! Happy weekend ~ Danielle
