That’s right, Californians… get ready because there are six giant trolls* coming your way on June 7th, 2025! Filoli Estate & Gardens (Bay Area, Woodside CA) will be hosting “TROLLS: Save the Humans” by Danish artist Thomas Dambo:
“Our world is drowning in trash while we are running out of natural resources.
In 2011 I quit my job to become an artist and follow my mission to 'Waste no more'. Today, I spend my life showing the world that beautiful things can be made out of trash. I give new life to discarded materials by turning them into large-scale artworks.”
How beautiful is THAT!? Speaking of which, I had to include that shot of “Rancho Dambo”, where Thomas creates his recycled magic. PS. If you’re not in California, don’t worry, because Thomas’ trolls travel all over the world. Keep an eye on his Instagram feed, @thomasdambo, to see where they might be next!

These trolls! I wonder how long they will be on display at Filoli and if others on his troll map are permanent installations? (There is one in Michigan near where I spend the summer.) I will have to do more investigating!
