Um, those are PAINTINGS. Seriously.
I've wanted to interview American artist Beverly Fishman for years… but, honestly, I was too intimidated to ask! Not only has she shown her work all over the world, she was also the head of the painting program at Cranbrook for 26 years. Yeah. Anyway, long story short - I asked, she said yes, and here we are! I'm so excited for you to hear this episode... it’s filled to the brim with stories, insights, and no-nonsense roll up your sleeves ‘n get to work advice. Look/listen on my site, or subscribe on Apple Podcasts and/or Spotify.
You guys, I’m very excited about this… every Saturday, I’ll be featuring the work of someone who subscribes to ‘The NSTATMA Society’ because, let’s face it, there are so many of you who deserve a big, bright spotlight! Today, I’ve selected UK born/US based artist Sarah Gordon. Seaweed and coral, botanicals, insects, birds beautifully painted with ice cream-colored gouache? Yes, please! You can follow Sarah on Instagram at @sarahgordondesign.
Here’s a peek at this week’s artsy extras… I might be slightly ‘Type A’ so, yes, every day has a theme. Along with writing about an artist, I also include:
Motivational stories on Monday; Studio Tuesdio features an artist’s workspace ; Creative prompts on Wednesday (ie., Hump Day is now Jump Day); Upcoming exhibits on Thursday; Art Flick Friday so you have something to watch over the weekend; and, of course, the Saturday Spotlight features one of you! If you’re on the fence about receiving daily emails from me, I promise they’ll bring beauty to your inbox (I can guarantee they’re more inspiring than spam and zoom links!).
Have a lovely weekend ~ Danielle
