Quality, indeed! So, today’s art delivery is playing double duty… No.1, it features a ‘member in the spotlight’, and No. 2, I get to say, “Oh my word, look what she did with this week’s JumpDay prompt!?” I’m sure most of you already know California based writer, designer, photographer, and photo stylist Victoria Smith from all of her beautiful work on her long-time blog SFGirlByBay. Well, not only is she great with a camera, look what she did when I gave subscribing members a chunk of one of my family photos as the bottom half of a creative jumping-off place! GORGEOUS! Um, I think Victoria might need to add ‘collage artist’ to her bio line! You can find her on Instagram at @sfgirlbybay, and fun fact, Victoria also has an inspiration-packed Substack newsletter if you wanna check it out!
ALSO, I owe you a new podcast episode, and I promiiiiiise it’s coming! It’s tricky finding enough hours in the day with the ART and JOY book tour underway, but I’m trying my best (if you live in Vancouver I’ll be at Collage Collage next Saturday, April 1 at 1pm for storytime & craft-making!) Have a wonderful weekend ~ Danielle xo
ps. To get in on all of the
HumpJump Day prompts every Wednesday (not to mention being able to send your questions into ‘Dear Arty’, art flick info, peeks into artist studios and a whole bunch of fabulous featured artists), all you have to do is sign up. For $3/month… less than a crappy latte, I’ll send you artsy stuff every Monday through Friday! Oh look, here’s a big, easy button to click:
for some reason, this piece reminds me of Carrie and Lowell, the Sufjan Stevens album. as though i can hear it through photograph.
thank you for sharing.
Ack!! Thank you so much for sharing my first stab at making “art” in a long, long time! I loved this exercise! Keep them coming, Danielle. I probably never would’ve attempted some kind of collage art without your prompt, so thank you!
