Big blooms
Wait. Are these… photographs?
Yep! Photographs… with a few alterations:
“… Langford’s method pushes beyond traditional photography, creating three-dimensional forms that are as much objects as they are images. He meticulously photographs each flower, capturing hundreds of images at varying focal depths, which he later combines into a hyper-detailed composite. He prints the flower onto individual canvas sections - each petal its own piece - then weaves them together, embedding layers of depth and texture into the work. The canvas moves with the air, allowing the piece to shift as light changes, adding a dynamic realism...”
This is the large, ethereal, cut, layered and sewn work of Brooklyn based photographer Benjamin Langford. If I didn’t say it already… gasp! I’d love to see these big blooms up close. For now, I’ll just follow along on Instagram at @blangblang92. (exhibition images at Megan Mulrooney Gallery, LA)
What were your WINS from the past week? Small, medium and large… all of them count, so please share them in the comments so we can CELEBRATE. I think the biggest win for me in the past week was starting to feel slightly more comfortable posting videos of myself on Instagram. I’ve avoided this for years, but then dipped my toe in a little bit last year, and now it’s starting to be less horrifying. Baby steps, right? Right. ;)
Have a lovely day ~ Danielle

Is it just me, or do you also feel like a bumble bee looking at those flowers? 😍
My win was making time to draw and feeling happy with my results. Baby steps.
