With my art, I want to speak what my words struggle to say. Life is a miracle - especially when it is mundane … I chose charcoal as a medium to represent the vulnerability of my subjects. Although charcoal is a messy and fragile medium, it was once a strong, fiercely growing entity that endured extreme temperatures to find itself on the other side of survival as a useful tool - providing the opportunity to communicate visually … The flat, colourful sections in my work highlight the stark contrast between our humanness and our environment, between our vulnerability and our strength, and between the miracle and the mundane. I told my daily subscribers about this yesterday, so I’ll share it with EVERYONE today. Yep, that’s the whole list. The artwork, the daily creative extras, the tight-knit/engaged community… it’s a must-have for your inbox, that you didn’t even know you needed! ;) I happily put so much work into the daily emails, but I think know it’s time to walk the walk when it comes to owning my worth / gettin’ paid.
