Today’s ‘subscriber in the spotlight’ is Texas based artist Kaitlin Merchant… and the light is shining directly on her “Blue Sky” series:

“Looking up at the clouds from directly below conjures a nostalgic feeling of gazing up to daydream. The act of looking up activates dopamine, which helps us achieve those dreams. Peel off the tape to reveal a neon base layer. It symbolizes the bright and hidden things within, waiting to shine through. The contrast between organic clouds and geometric shapes emphasizes the tension between who we are and what we're capable of becoming.”

An art retreat, in a dreamy French Chateau, next June!? Oui! I’m going to announce this on Instagram on Monday, but I wanted to tell all of YOU first, as spots are limited and a few have already been snapped up!

Alexis Mixter (an Oregon based artist and my very good friend who I met in Venice) and I are hosting an art retreat, with Uptrek, in France in June of 2025… June 11th - 18th to be exact. Here’s the full description:

Reignite Your Creative Fire: Refuel your inspiration cup at a transformative art and creative self-development retreat in the Loire Valley, France, led by artists Danielle Krysa and Alexis Mixter. This retreat offers a week of immersive workshops in mixed media, collage, painting, and drawing.
