Pastels, spray paint, ink and sometimes acrylic paint… ahh, yes, the dreamy mixed media work of Geneva based artist Eliana Marinari:
“… her work reflects a fascination for the power of images and explores the human capacity to refer to a visual object and generate semantic associations … Trained in classical drawing in Florence, Eliana Marinari also received a doctorate in science in London. Her artistic research brushes up against scientific studies by demonstrating the illusory quality of visual perception, which queries the truth of the visible; how the brain stores images, the way it recollects and interprets them.”
Drawing in Florence and science in London!? Wow. You can follow Eliana on Instagram at @elianamarinariart.
As we speak, I’m sitting in a lovely cafe with my very smart husband, Greg, drinking coffee and mapping out plans to relaunch my podcast in a new form! Over the last several years, I’ve recorded 226 artist interviews on ART FOR YOUR EAR… but now I wanna shake the format up a little bit! Stay tuned because it’s coming soon (although I might need more caffeine first).
Happy weekend, and Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians ~ Danielle
ps. You might’ve noticed my little marketing nudge in the past week or so regarding this newsletter… you’d be right! I love putting all of this artsy content together but, it turns out, a lot of people don’t even know it exists. Oops. Time to be a little louder, I guess? SUBSCRIBE NOW - you’ll love it! Tell a Friend - they’ll love it, too! There, nailed it.
I can't wait for the new episodes! I've been replaying the existing episodes, and they are really great, but I miss hearing new updates on your own art journey that get sprinkled in to your episodes. I hope you have some plans to talk about the Biennale and your recent shows. Regardless I'm very excited for the new podcasts!
New episodes?! My dream is coming true! Thank you for all that you do.
