OIL PASTEL ON PAPER. What?! Yep. “Cozy”, the latest work by American artist Terrance Payne, is now showing at Rosalux Gallery in Minneapolis. It “deals with the emotional damage brought on by the ongoing pandemic, political upheavals and resulting familial discord over the past several years”… and, if you’re wondering “why all the birds”, you can find out TOMORROW MORNING when I ask him about it via Zoom! If you’re in Minneapolis, you can be in the gallery LIVE for this one hour event*. If you live really far away (like me), don’t worry because you can watch via Instagram live on Rosalux’s feed! This is all happening tomorrow, Saturday October 15th at 8am pst, 10am central, and 11am on the east coast.
*Note: If you go to the gallery in person, there will be mom-made lemon bars, pumpkin bars, toffee bars and brownies. Seriously, Terrance’s mom made treats for this artsy morning event! Loooooooove.
I’m keeping the ‘oil pastel / coping with the state of the world’ theme going… and yes, parallel universe me is already framing that ouija board drawing! This is the hilarious AND affordable work of California based artist Katie Benn! You can FIND prints and originals (and T-shirts!) by Katie in her online shop.
Happy Friday ~ Danielle
I’ve got to get to my parallel universe!!
Love ‘I’m having a lot of thoughts’. Made me smile
