I just came across the work of Chilean artist María Ossandón, and was instantly smitten! Here’s a snippet from her ‘about’ page:
“… she has been collecting and reconstructing pottery from different countries. Through ink drawing, María Ossandón reworks the miniature scenes or landscapes that are found in each broken piece of the pottery, relating universal memories with personal experiences, thus creating an almost archival representation of these landscapes. To do this, the artist has visited different antique fairs, with the gaze of a collector of objects that tell of other times, of stories that seem to be seen again or that resist being thrown away in societies where immediacy and the absence of duration mean that they are replaced by other objects equally condemned to be thrown away. Pottery that has had value in her home environment: and that today can reflect imaginaries and idealizations of a past or a way of living that refuses to die completely…” [more]
Ah, it’s all so lovely! You can find María on Instagram at @mariaossandon.
It really does take a bit of creative bravery to suck at something new… unless you’re five, because then you’d most-likely just go for it! That said, based on my experience, after kindergarten a lot of us start to worry about exactly this. So, let’s take this joyfully colored advice from @naturallife, and A. be brave, and B. potentially suck! What’s the worst that can happen? A little mess? If five year olds can handle it, so can we.

These are incredible—wow! 💚
