These paintings (!?!) are the jaw-dropping work of Mexico City based artist Alexis Mata. If you happen to be in New York, please go see “Fata Morgana”, a two-person exhibition featuring Alexis’ paintings and Raul de Lara’s wooden sculptures (which I’ve written about before because they’re amazing — proof above)… what an absolutely perfect pairing! The show opens TODAY from 6-8pm at The Hole NY, 86 Walker Street.
