Today’s society member in the spotlight is mixed media artist Andrea Mindell Cohen. She is Spanish-Canadian currently based in Barcelona, and her portfolio is a gorgeous combination of printmaking, painting, and collage. The work shown here is from a series titled “The Surface in Between” :

… Believing that women are the keepers of the stories and caretakers of traditions, Andrea has created a dialogue between the works that draw upon symbolism and superstition through adorned details. This ancient storytelling serves to elevate the importance of the divine and the ordinary, and creates history.
